She/Her/Hers
Hello! My name is Celine, and I am a master’s counseling intern under the supervision of Lori Martin (MS, LPC-S). I completed my BA at the University of Texas at Austin, and am currently working towards my Master’s in Mental Health Counseling at the University of North Texas.
I specialize in individual talk-therapy with both teenagers and adults using Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, or ACT. This theory focuses on developing your mindset to accept and work through difficult emotions rather than avoiding them. Being engaged in the present rather than living in the future or the past can allow you to work alongside the pain that comes with life rather than suffering through it.
My theory and counseling style can work well for a variety of clients, especially those experiencing anxiety, depression, PTSD, grief, guilt, shame, perfectionism, and people-pleasing tendencies.
Throughout our sessions together, you will have opportunities to learn to decipher your thoughts and feelings from beliefs you may hold about yourself or difficult circumstances, ensuring that you have the space and ability to prioritize your values and take control of your perspective. I aim to provide a sense of safety within the counseling room that allows you to give yourself permission to feel a range of emotions, granting you the ability to accept your feelings not as something that is good or bad, but as a neutral guide for life.
