She/Her/Hers
Hi! My name is Emma and I am a Licensed Professional Counselor Associate as well as Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern under the supervision of Lori Martin, MS, LPC-S. I completed my Master of Science in Counseling and Development at Texas Woman’s University. I specialize in supporting adult clients facing challenges such as trauma, mood regulation, life transitions, identity development, men’s health, codependency, perfectionism, people pleasing, addiction and general existential dread. I especially enjoy working with LGBTQIA+ folks and marginalized individuals.
My approach to individual and group counseling is an eclectic blend of Existential therapy, Brainspotting, Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and creativity. Existential therapy searches for meaning and illuminates significance in our lives. This significance allows us to strengthen our ability to meet life's complex challenges with creativity, curiosity and flexibility. Brainspotting is a somatic-based therapy that uses eye gaze and the mind body connection to process unresolved trauma & heavy emotions stored in the nervous symptom that lead to physiological/emotional activation, rumination and feeling stuck. Brainspotting is an outgrowth of the concepts utilized in Eye Movement Desensitization Reprocessing (EMDR).
I aim to explore what may no longer be bringing you fulfillment, so we can uncover renewed purpose, inspiration, and a deeper sense of meaning. In my work, I strive to support you in living a life that feels more aligned, authentic, and alive. Through reflection and creative exploration, I hope to help you discover your resilience, reconnect with your values and uncover the paths that give your life vibrant meaning. Counseling is a space to explore, awaken, and gently step into the life that calls to you.
