Kaitlyn Russell, MA, LPC Intern
Kaitlyn is a Licensed Professional Counselor Intern supervised by Lori Martin, MS, LPC-Supervisor. She received her Bachelor’s of Science in Psychology from Freed Hardeman University and Master’s of Arts in Counseling Psychology from Texas Woman's University. She has worked with survivors of trauma and abuse throughout her career. Her experience includes individual, couples, and group work at all levels of mental health care. Recently, Kaitlyn achieved a Certification in Trauma Model Theory as a part of her work in the Ross Trauma Institute, where she works full time on the inpatient trauma unit. She has experience in working with dissociative disorders, substance abuse, process addictions, and other trauma reactions. She values a collaborative approach in therapy, which focuses on giving the power back to survivors. She utilizes experiential and expressive therapy, emotion focused, solution- focused, and intersectional feminist therapy to expand each individual's ability to understand and express their feelings in a safe, nonjudgmental space. She helps clients identify their strengths, face their challenges and identify their choices in an open, supportive, inclusive environment that encourages positive personal growth and resiliency.
